BSS is a brain child of All World Gayatri Pariwar (www.awgp.org), which for over 50 years has been engaged in promoting Enhancement of human potential, through a special movement called Vyakti Nirman (Self reformation). This movement creates a lasting positive transformation in individuals by bringing out their strengths and virtues.

Bal Sanskar Shala of Katy, Tx. has been created to educate younger generations to achieve the following objectives on the road to meet the Gayatri Mission’s goals:

  • Help younger generations develop intellectual knowledge about strengths and virtues, (Daivy Sampatti)  positive emotions, (Bhav Samvedna)  and positive character traits (charitra nirman)

  • Provide positive progressive increments to our children in the realization of their potential at being better human beings by identifying, understanding and integrating strengths (identified in the first objective) into their daily lives.

  • Shramdaan, where students will donate time for social cause, and practice “ Simple living and High thinking” motto with a disciplined lifestyle using clear and strong values.

The teachings at the Bal Sanskar Shala is done by volunteer teachers. The teachings are based on a curriculum developed by Dev Sanskiti Vishwavidhyalay, a unique university established on the principles of the ancient universities, of Nalanda and Takshashila, and Shantikunj, the headquarters of Gayatri Pariwaar, in Haridwar, India.

The BSS program includes highly interactive lecture demonstrations, panel discussions, individual and group exercises, Q&A sessions, participant presentations and workshops.

This unique experience is complemented by cultural programs, games, arts and crafts, yoga sessions, Pranaya practices, prayers, picnics, meditation, teachings of the vedic knowledge, Ramayana, Mahabharat and the Bhagvad Gita.
